          Did you know that there are about three thousand endangered breeds in the world? Some of the reasons that some animals go extinct is because humans are destroying the animals homes, not getting enough food, and being hunted. We need to stop this!  

           African Elephants may become exticted by the year 2020, thats only five years from now! The reason for that is thats they are poached by hunters. They hunt them only to take the ivory tusks to make jewelry, ornaments and other things. The main importer of the ivory is China. They buy the ivory and have it imports to their country for them to start making it into things and to start and sell it.  Do you think we could stop the extinction of the African Elephants? I think we can. 

          Between 30 and 50 percent of all animal species are very close to being extinct. The predicted time for their extinctions is around mid century! Thats not far away people, we need to do something and fast!  The biggest thing making them go extinct is things like our logging companies and mining companies because they are taking up land, land that is all of animals homes and habitats. It would be like someone coming over to your house and running it over with a bulldozer or excavator of some sorts. You wouldn't be very happy or have a place to live would you, I mean you could probably go to a family house but most animal species can't do that. The companies are also taking their food. They need food to eat so they die off because they don't have any of it. 

One the main reasons that pandas have become endangered is habitat destruction. 

Another reason is that humans take there only food source, bamboo which we use for food and housing sometimes. The last biggest reason is that they are being hunted by poachers. Poachers are poaching pandas to get there skin and fur. 

           We can stop this, we can make a difference!

        

STOP ANIMAL CRUELTY!

                          Animal Cruelty  

       Animal cruelty is very important and very serious. Did you know that animals on fur farms are killed at 6 months old, but females are not killed as early? Poor things!

Also, since the 1930’s about 1 million unwanted racing greyhounds were killed by the greyhound racing industry. The greyhound racing industry is a puppy mill that's goal is to create greyhound racing champions, but they do kill the weaker ones and non-successful breeds. 
         
     

Did you know that starting in the 1920's and still continuing now, animals have been used to test drugs and chemicals to make sure they are safe for humans. For example, they test things like food, makeup and also use animals to train doctors. :( 

Did you know that Australia loses about 1,000,000 sheep each year after shearing. The reason they die is because of being out in the winter without there thick layer of fur. 
        
        I have a question for you, do you like movies? Then you won't like this bit of information. During the film “ Jesse James “ a horse was killed when it was forced to jump off a cliff for a scene!  Speaking of horses, between 2003 and 2008 nearly 3,030 racing horses died near a horse racing track, but not all horses died because of racing accidents. 

      I have five chickens of my own that we keep as pets. So this bit I don’t like, It takes 90 seconds for a chicken die after it has been slaughtered.

Also, employees in the butterball slaughterhouse in Arkansas stamped on live turkeys and were throwing them against the wall! Can you believe that you are eating these poor turkeys that have suffered like this?

 

Within the process of making honey over 1 million bees are killed each year by honey businesses. 

     Ever had shark fin soup after this I don’t think you will want to. The business that makes shark fin soup kills 100 million sharks each year, only for the fin! Look at the ingredients:

• 400 grams shark fins
• 100 grams dried, ground shrimp
• 10 large dried Dongu mushrooms
• 50 grams dried bamboo shoots
• 1 slice ginger root
• 2 tablespoons bacon fat
• 1 teaspoon salt
• 2 tablespoons soy sauce
• 4 tablespoons Chinese white wine
• 3/4 litres chicken broth
• Fish stock from red-boiled fins
• 1 teaspoon sesame oil
• 1 tablespoon corn starch

       Last but definitely not least, several thousand animal cruelty videos can be found on youtube! So please help save our animals and STOP ANIMAL ABUSE!
